The iX4 is the Sports Activity Coupé version of BMW's Neue Klasse, closely related to the iX3, 4.78 metres long and built in Debrecen in Hungary. The 40 xDrive carries an 82.6 kWh battery and the 50 xDrive one of 108.7 kWh, both usable figures. The charging flap opens automatically at the right rear, the UK launch is due in March 2027, and the M60 xDrive, which has the 22 kW charger as standard, follows in the spring of 2027.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWhich charging cable should I buy for a BMW iX4?\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEvery iX4 suits the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/type-2\"\u003e22 kW Voldt® Type 2 charging cable\u003c\/a\u003e, which carries 32 A per phase whichever charger is fitted. British houses take their power on a single phase, and BMW lists 7.4 kW on one phase for the iX3, which shares the iX4's charging unit: on a 7 kW wall box a 12-hour night adds about 75 kWh, most of the 40 xDrive's battery. An 11 kW cable, rated for 16 A, would halve that to 3.7 kW. On three-phase public posts the standard charger reaches 11 kW, where BMW quotes 8 hours 15 minutes for the 40 xDrive and 11 hours for the 50 xDrive, and AC Charging Professional takes 22 kW for 4 hours 15 minutes and 5 hours 30 minutes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eReverse the iX4 onto the drive and the right rear flap ends up beside the wall, where a six-metre cable serves a wall box on that side. Nose first, the flap is at the far end of the 4.78-metre coupé and the cable runs along the whole right flank, which takes eight metres. With a second car parked in front of the wall, a ten-metre cable suits reversing in and a 15-metre cable suits driving in.
