{"title":"Škoda Peaq Charging cable","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe Škoda Peaq is Škoda's electric flagship: a large SUV built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, in production at Mladá Boleslav since August 2026 and sold in the UK with seven seats as standard. UK buyers get two versions, the rear-wheel-drive Peaq 90 and the all-wheel-drive Peaq 90x, and both carry a 91 kWh battery with 86 kWh usable. The onboard charger is rated at 11 kW and accepts either 16 A from each of three phases or a full 32 A from one. The Type 2 and CCS inlet sits on the offside rear flank, and V2L lets the car power external equipment from its battery.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eChoosing a Type 2 cable for the Škoda Peaq\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBritish homes run on a single phase, and on a battery this size that decides the cable. A wallbox on a 32 A circuit passes 7.4 kW, and the Peaq takes all of it, because its charger accepts the full 32 A on one phase. A \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/type-2\"\u003e22 kW Voldt® Type 2 charging cable\u003c\/a\u003e is built around 32 A conductors and lets that current through: about thirteen and three quarter hours from empty to full, and a car that comes home with a third of its charge left is full again overnight. An 11 kW cable carries 16 A per phase, which holds the same wallbox to 3.7 kW and roughly doubles those times. Where the wallbox itself is fused at 16 A, the car charges at 3.7 kW whichever cable is fitted, so it is worth checking what your installation allows. At public three-phase posts the same 22 kW cable delivers the car's full 11 kW, about nine and a quarter hours from empty.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt nearly 4.9 metres the Peaq is a long car, and its inlet sits at the back on the offside. A six-metre cable works where the car reverses onto the drive and the wallbox is mounted near the rear offside corner. An eight-metre or ten-metre cable is the practical default, since driving in nose-first leaves the inlet at the far end of the car from a wall-mounted unit. A fifteen-metre cable covers detached garages, shared parking and posts set well back from the bay. Škoda gives the Peaq a 37-litre compartment under the bonnet and describes it as storage for the charging cable, so whichever length you choose has a place to live.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eCharging the Peaq away from the wallbox\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe \u003ca href=\"\/products\/portable-ev-charger-commando-plug-3-phase-8a-16a-11kw\"\u003eVoldt® 11 kW portable charger with a 16 A red commando plug\u003c\/a\u003e gives the Peaq its full 11 kW from a three-phase commando socket, the kind wired into workshops, farm buildings and many holiday parks: about nine and a quarter hours from empty, quicker than a UK home wallbox manages. The current adjusts from 8 A to 16 A for circuits shared with other equipment. On caravan sites, the \u003ca href=\"\/products\/type-2-to-16a-commando-socket-1-phase-adjustable-8a-16a-3-7kw-ev-charging-cable\"\u003eVoldt® portable charger with a 16 A blue commando plug\u003c\/a\u003e runs from the single-phase hook-up at 3.7 kW. On a battery this size the useful measure is energy per night: twelve hours at the full 16 A returns about 38 kWh, nearly 130 miles, where a charger fixed at 10 A would return about 23 kWh. With the 90x rated to tow up to 2,000 kg, the hook-up on a touring pitch is often where the Peaq does its charging.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA domestic socket has its place too. The \u003ca href=\"\/products\/3-pin-ev-granny-charger-adjustable-8a-13a-2-8kw-charging-cable\"\u003eVoldt® three-pin portable charger\u003c\/a\u003e adjusts from 8 A to 13 A, 13 A being the ceiling BS 1363 allows on a domestic plug rather than a limit of the charger, and draws up to 2.8 kW within the limits of what your wiring or installation can sustain. A thermal sensor built into the plug monitors the connection temperature and adjusts the current automatically if it rises. A twelve-hour night at 13 A returns about 28 kWh, around 95 miles, which covers a weekend at the grandparents' with every seat in use. The Peaq can also send power the other way: through its charging inlet and a \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/v2l-adapters\"\u003eVoldt® V2L adapter\u003c\/a\u003e, it supplies up to 3.6 kW to a kettle, power tools or an e-bike charger.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWhat goes into a Voldt® cable\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVoldt® charging cables and chargers carry CE, UKCA and TÜV certification and are built to automotive industry quality standards.
