Tesla appears to stop charging when the car goes to sleep
When a Tesla is idle, with no active functions, and no control units working, the car is said to be in sleep mode. This function is useful because it allows you to eliminate (or minimize) phantom power consumption and is a very convenient and practical situation. In fact, this very function can cause a problem during charging: when the car is in this state and charging, it may not start or stop after a few minutes. You can imagine the inconvenience of the owner, who thinks they'll find the car fully charged in the morning, when in fact it has a similar charge percentage to its initial charge. Furthermore, during the night, they won't be able to take advantage of the most convenient electricity rates. If your Tesla also exhibits these charging interruptions when the car enters sleep mode, you should try to understand two things: Does charging really stop every time the car is in sleep mode, or is it just a coincidence? Does the problem only occur with the scheduled charging setting, or does it also occur during direct or manual charging? If the interrupted charging event only occurs in sleep mode, a software update may resolve the issue. The same goes for scheduled charging: in this case too, a software or firmware update for the app may resolve the issue. However, it's recommended to try a couple of direct charging sessions, deleting the scheduled charging timer settings.
