DC fast charging

This category brings together Voldt® solutions dedicated to DC charging, developed for applications where direct energy transfer in direct current is required, without intermediate conversion inside the vehicle. DC charging is primarily used in fast-charging scenarios, professional infrastructure, technical applications, and environments where charging time is a critical factor.
Here you will find components and solutions designed for DC fast charging, including CCS2 connectors, vehicle inlets, open-ended cables, adapters between DC standards, and high-power mobile DC chargers. All products in this collection are intended for technical and professional use, with a strong focus on electrical safety, mechanical robustness, and real compatibility with modern DC systems.

What is DC charging and when is it used?

DC charging differs from AC charging by supplying direct current straight to the vehicle’s battery, bypassing the limitation imposed by the onboard charger. This type of charging is used when high power levels and reduced charging times are required.
DC charging is typically used when:

Charging time is critical
The infrastructure supports direct current
The vehicle is compatible with DC fast charging
The application is professional, commercial, or technical

In these scenarios, charging management is handled by the DC station, while the components ensure a safe connection between infrastructure and vehicle.

DC fast charging in real-world applications

DC fast charging is common at public charging stations, logistics hubs, commercial fleets, technical workshops, and advanced electric mobility projects. This collection includes essential components for building, maintaining, or adapting DC charging systems. including reliable DC charger solutions for professional and technical applications.

Typical applications include:

Public fast-charging infrastructure
Commercial fleet vehicles
Workshops and testing centres
Mobile DC charging solutions

Using the correct components is essential to ensure consistent performance and operational safety.

DC components available in this collection

Based on the products presented, this collection includes several key elements for DC charging systems.
Available components include:

CCS2 connectors for different DC current ratings
CCS2 vehicle inlets
CCS2 cables with open ends
Adapters between DC standards such as CCS1, CHAdeMO, and GBT
High-power mobile DC chargers

These products make it possible to build complete solutions or adapt existing DC infrastructure to different vehicles and standards.

Compatibility and DC standards

DC charging involves multiple connection standards, with CCS2 being the most common in Europe. However, technical or international contexts often require adaptation between systems.
The adapters and components in this collection make it possible to:

Connect CCS2 vehicles to different infrastructures
Adapt between international DC standards
Work with imported vehicles or hybrid systems
Ensure compatibility in technical environments

Correct component selection is essential to avoid incompatibilities and electrical risks.

Current, power, and technical requirements

DC fast-charging systems operate at significantly higher currents and power levels than AC solutions. For this reason, the components used must be correctly dimensioned for the specific application.
Key factors to consider include:

Supported nominal current
Maximum system power
Cable or connector cooling type
Compatibility with the vehicle and charging station

Using inadequately rated components can compromise both safety and system reliability.

Robustness and safety in DC charging

DC charging places high demands on materials and component construction. Connectors, cables, and inlets are exposed to heat, mechanical stress, and repeated connection cycles.
Voldt® products in this collection are designed for:

Technical and professional use
High thermal and mechanical resistance
Secure and stable connections
Consistent operation in demanding environments

This approach ensures reliable performance even in intensive applications.

Who is this collection for?

This DC charging collection is suitable for:

Operators of fast-charging infrastructure
Companies with electric vehicle fleets
Workshops and technical centres
Advanced electric mobility projects
Professional users of DC charging systems

For domestic charging or everyday private use, AC solutions are generally more appropriate. However, when performance and time are critical, DC charging is the correct choice.

European quality by Voldt®

Like the rest of the Voldt® portfolio, the products in this collection are developed with a focus on quality, safety, and technical compatibility. The approach is clear: to offer DC components designed for real-world use, without compromise.
Each product is engineered to integrate into demanding systems where reliability is not optional.

Choosing the right DC charging solution

When selecting components for DC fast charging, it is essential to assess:

The required DC standard
The necessary current and power levels
Compatibility with the vehicle
The technical or commercial usage context

Within this collection you will find DC charger solutions designed for real DC charging scenarios, with a focus on safety, durability, and technical clarity. Review the available options and choose the components that best match your direct-current charging system.
