Tesla Model 3 charges at public AC stations, but not at home
Tesla Model 3 charges correctly on AC at public charging stations, but charging at home is impossible or fails. With the same conditions, cable, and settings, the Tesla Model 3 changes its behavior between public and home charging, for no apparent reason. The causes are primarily related to the software and the electrical system that powers the charger. In our experience, this is most likely a problem with the software and its settings. One possible cause is the storage of preferred charging stations or charging profiles. In the first case, the vehicle may not recognize "home" as a charging location. We recommend resetting "home" as the preferred charging location and verifying that the vehicle actually recognizes the station and can begin charging at home. In the second case, we recommend deleting all preset charging profiles and testing a manual charge. Then, if successful, you can reintroduce the different possible profiles based on your needs. The above applies if the cable, charger, and home electrical system are considered to be in order. In addition to the software issue, as indicated, there may also be some inconsistencies with the system or meter. Therefore, we recommend trying to set the wallbox to its lowest possible charging power. These typically reach 7.4 kW, a value not typically supported by a standard meter. Reducing the charging power may prevent the session from starting normally. Therefore, you can ask your energy provider to increase the maximum limit on your meter.
