BMW i4 charge-port light behavior causes confusion
Green light, charging complete. Yellow light, charging in progress. Red light, charging to begin due to low battery. It would be a simple, intuitive, practical, and immediate system, but above all, quick. With therecharging BMW i4, however, it doesn't always work the same way. The color, which should indicate the vehicle's charging status, sometimes provides inaccurate information, creating confusion for the user. It wouldn't be the first time a colored light on the charging port has indicated a status that isn't the true one. You think charging is complete, but the car reports, for example, a 90% battery charge. Or you're sure the car still needs a few moments to complete charging, but in fact the session is already complete, but the light doesn't warn you in a timely manner. There may be some delays, but we recommend checking via the specific smartphone app or the car monitor to get more accurate and accurate information on the current battery charge status. However, the problem could be solved with a car software update.
