Tesla Model Y cannot use the expected AC charging current at home
It doesn't happen to everyone, but for many, AC home charging on a Tesla Model Yis slower than expected. Charging at home appears much slower, making it difficult to manage, predict, and schedule charging times. This happens because, in most cases, the home electrical system is unable to handle the current demand. Since wallboxes have two operating power levels, and since the higher power cannot support it, the system switches to the lower value, slowing down the recharging process. Of course, the car may also only allow charging at a lower value. For these reasons, it's advisable to carefully check the charging settings and the various profiles entered to determine if there are any limitations or settings that prevent proper charging at the higher speed. Often, however, the underlying problem is the home meter. Many appliances cannot handle large loads, forcing the system to reduce power and slow down charging. Check all this before thinking about an incorrectly installed wallbox, while if it is connected to the home electrical system plug, charging is rightly slower than with a wallbox.
