BMW i4 charging problems after the car has been standing still

There are reports from BMW i4 owners that their car is having trouble charging after being parked for a long period of time. It may be that the car won't charge at all, or that the battery charge has dropped to zero. While this is understandable, it can also be quite surprising for owners. Even when the car is parked, it consumes battery power due to some functions that remain active. Therefore, knowing that the car will be parked for a while, it would be helpful to disable unnecessary functions and fully recharge the battery before leaving it unattended. This will make charging the BMW i4 easier. The problem of the car not charging after a long period of time could also be caused by software updates issued by the German manufacturer while the car was in storage, but not yet installed on the BMW i4. It's best to install the update first and then charge the vehicle. If the car has been parked for a long time, it's recommended to reset the charging settings and perform a new full charge manually. Then reset your charging preferences. The "battery maintenance" function should be available; it's advisable to set it if you know the car will be idle for a long time.
