BMW i5 scheduled charging stopped working after an update
Many users have reported that, after performing a software update on their BMW i5, the scheduled charging function has stopped working properly, and the charging session may even be interrupted or not even start. The car enters a mode that prevents charging. This typically occurs when there are connection problems between the car and the charger, when error messages appear, or when scheduled charging doesn't start at the scheduled time. This is due to some bugs introduced with the latest update, as the car has since stopped functioning properly when charging. Alternatively, the problem could be related to BMW Connected, the app that manages scheduled charging: with the system update, the app is no longer recognized, possibly due to incorrect configurations automatically set up after receiving the "incriminating" update. This is why a general check of the settings can be the first step to ensure everything is configured perfectly. Uninstalling and reinstalling the BMW Connected app may be a solution to reset any current settings. Typically, when an update with system bugs is released, a new update is released shortly thereafter that fixes the previous flaws. Are you sure there isn't already a new update available to fix this notorious issue? You need to check not only the car's system, but also the BMW app's firmware.
