BMW iX1 Charging cable

BMW iX1 Charging cable

11kW
The BMW iX1 has a charging capacity of 11kW. So we recommend using a charging cable of atleast 11kW for optimal charging speeds.

22kW cable compatible
However, please be aware that a 22kW cable is perfectly capable of charging at 11kW. With a 22kW cable you'll have guaranteed optimal charging speeds in the event of a new car or a possible upgrade in charging capacity.

Collection: BMW iX1 Charging cable

The BMW iX1 is a compact electric SUV available in two variants: the rear-wheel-drive eDrive20 and the all-wheel-drive xDrive30. Both carry the same 64.7 kWh usable battery and the same 11 kW three-phase onboard charger as standard. A 22 kW upgrade is available as an option on both variants. At a three-phase wallbox or public post, the iX1 adds around 50 km of range per hour at 11 kW. The CCS Type 2 inlet sits on the right rear flank across both variants.

Which charging cable fits the BMW iX1

An 11 kW Voldt® Type 2 charging cable covers both iX1 variants without compromise. A 22 kW cable works equally well at 11 kW and is worth considering if you have the optional 22 kW charger, plan to use it with a higher-capacity vehicle in the future, or simply want to keep your options open.

The right-rear port mirrors the position of a conventional fuel filler, so reversing into a bay puts the port closest to the post. For most home driveways a 6-metre cable is comfortable. An 8-metre cable is the confident everyday standard for mixed home and public use. A 10-metre cable removes uncertainty at public bays where the post is set further back. A 15-metre cable handles hotel car parks and longer driveway runs without restriction.

Portable charging for travel and outdoor use

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable is available up to 22 kW via three-phase CEE. For the iX1, the onboard charger accepts up to 11 kW, so output is matched automatically. Most CEE sockets on campsites and marinas run at 16A three-phase, delivering exactly 11 kW. At that rate the 64.7 kWh battery charges fully in around six and a half hours, well within an overnight window at any site with a three-phase socket. The Schuko portable charger delivers up to 3.7 kW where only a standard socket is available.

Certified European quality

Voldt® cables are CE, UKCA and TÜV certified and built to IATF 16949. Single-piece moulded connectors, no glue or screws. IP67-rated from −30°C to +50°C. 100% copper conductors with silver-plated contacts. Tested to more than 10,000 connection cycles. Three-year warranty, 100-day returns, free shipping across Europe.
