Kia’s EV rise
Kia rapidly grew to prominence in recent years by offering affordable quality products and the company didn't waste time taking the next natural step of electrifying a part of its lineup in a quest to contribute to the sustainability of a carbon-neutral tomorrow. Kia adopted electrification quicker than most by unveiling the Optima hybrid back in 2011 and its plug-in hybrid variant soon after. The first fully-fledged EV by the Korean automaker saw the light of day in late 2014 when the Kia Soul EV made its debut. The Korean company's portfolio of battery-powered vehicles has been growing ever since and isn't showing any signs of stopping. In fact, Kia aims to launch 15 new EVs by 2027, fast-forwarding its electrification strategy in the process. At Voldt, we're glad to see such lofty electrification-related plans and are happy to provide a Kia charging cable for every model within the company's growing EV and PHEV range.
KIA’s EV and PHEV lineup
At the moment, the Kia EV and PHEV lineup in the UK consists of four EVs and three plug-in hybrids. The current lineup of EVs, including the Soul, Kia Niro, EV6, and EV9, bolstered by the EV2, EV3, EV4, and EV5, offering all-electric drivetrains at more accessible prices - in a similar manner to the Sportage, Sorento, and XCeed plug-in hybrids which provide a competitive all-electric range, lower fuel consumption, and lighter environmental impact than traditional ICE vehicles right now. Naturally, at Voldt you can find a charging cable fitting for every single one of them, including their different iterations from years past. We also offer Kia charging cables for discontinued models, such as the Optima and Ceed PHEVs.
Voldt’s Kia charging cables
All current Kia EVs boast a maximum AC charging capability of 11kW, but the Niro EV from 2018 and 2019, branded as the e-Niro back in the day, can only utilize charging rates of up to 7.4kW. Regardless, our Kia charging cables for charging stations and wall boxes, such as the 16A/11kW or faster 32A/22kW three-phase AC units will easily support any present or future Kia EV, and the faster option even leaves room for a potential upgrade down the line - be it a new Kia EV with faster charging capabilities or a similarly superior model from another automaker. Similarly, Voldt's line of charging cables for standardized household power outlets, including schuko and commando sockets, emphasizes safety and performance by providing the highest available charging rates on the market within their respective class. Voldt's schuko charging cable, for instance, features an adjustable 8A - 16A current, which enables a faster charging rate of up to 3.7kW than other comparable products from the market.
Voldt’s EV charging innovation for KIA EV
Voldt's charging cables are manufactured in Europe using high-quality Italian-sourced materials, ensuring our manufacturing process is of the highest quality. They are more durable than other similar charging solutions, and thanks to fine copper wiring, they're smoother and more resistant to right-angled bends. The plug casing, meanwhile, is a single-piece IP65-rated unit, which means it is more wear-resistant and has better waterproof capabilities than similar plugs constructed from multiple glued or screwed-together pieces. We offer a 2-year warranty, free shipping within two working days, and free returns on all our charging cables. Voldt's commitment to excellence goes beyond the manufacturing process as we, like Kia, aim to maximize value creation by respecting our customers and practising environmental management to further the world of electric mobility and lay a solid foundation for the exciting future of carbon neutrality.
