Collection: Kia Niro PHEV charging cable

The Kia Niro PHEV is a plug-in hybrid with a 8.9 kWh battery. It charges exclusively via AC using a Type 2 connector, at up to 3.3 kW. A full charge from empty takes around three hours. There is no DC fast charging on the PHEV. The charge port sits at the front of the car, behind a flap in the centre of the front bumper.

Which charging cable fits the Kia Niro PHEV

The correct cable is a Voldt® Type 2 charging cable. Because the onboard charger is limited to 3.3 kW, charging speed is the same regardless of cable rating. A 4-metre cable handles most home setups. A 6-metre cable covers the majority of home driveways without excess. An 8-metre cable is the everyday standard for mixed home and public use. A 10-metre cable covers public bays where the post is set further from the parking spot. A 15-metre cable suits long driveways and hotel car parks.

Portable charging for travel and outdoor use

The Voldt® portable Schuko charging cable delivers up to 3.7 kW via a standard socket, matched to the Niro PHEV's onboard charger. At 3.7 kW, the 8.9 kWh battery charges fully in around three hours. A standard socket is widely available in homes, garages, and most holiday accommodation.
