Audi E-Tron GT Quattro charging cable

Audi E-Tron GT Quattro charging cable

11kW
The Audi E-Tron GT Quattro has a charging capacity of 11kW. So we recommend using a charging cable of atleast 11kW for optimal charging speeds.

22kW cable compatible
However, please be aware that a 22kW cable is perfectly capable of charging at 11kW. With a 22kW cable you'll have guaranteed optimal charging speeds in the event of a new car or a possible upgrade in charging capacity.

Collection: Audi E-Tron GT Quattro charging cable

The Audi e-tron GT quattro is a four-door Gran Turismo built on the J1 platform developed with Porsche, sharing its electrical architecture with the Taycan. On sale from 2021 to early 2024, the e-tron GT quattro used a 93.4 kWh gross battery with 85 kWh usable, producing 350 kW (476 PS) in standard form and rising to 390 kW (530 PS) in overboost for launch control, with 640 Nm of torque distributed through quattro all-wheel drive. The 0–100 km/h time is 4.1 seconds and top speed is limited to 245 km/h. WLTP range is rated at up to 488 km (303 miles). DC rapid charging via CCS peaks at 270 kW on the 800-volt architecture, with a 10–80% charge taking approximately 23 minutes. The primary AC-only Type 2 inlet sits on the left front flank, ahead of the driver's door. Like other Audi EVs of this generation, the e-tron GT carried a combined CCS/Type 2 port on the right front flank for DC rapid charging and added flexibility in varied parking bays.

AC charging and wallbox times

The onboard AC charger is 11 kW three-phase as standard, with a 22 kW three-phase upgrade available as a factory option. At 11 kW on a compatible wallbox, a full charge from near-empty takes around eight and a half hours, comfortably within an overnight dwell for most owners. For cars specified with the optional 22 kW charger, a three-phase 22 kW supply reduces that to approximately four and a quarter hours.

The 11 kW standard charger draws three-phase power, so a three-phase wallbox is necessary to reach the full 11 kW rate. A single-phase 7.4 kW supply limits the charge to 7.4 kW: at that rate a full charge takes around thirteen hours, adding roughly four and a half hours compared to 11 kW three-phase. If your home installation is single-phase only, the practical difference in charge time is worth considering when planning an overnight session.

Which cable the e-tron GT quattro needs

Both Type 2 inlets accept a Voldt® Type 2 charging cable, and the same cable works across home wallboxes and public AC charge points. The standard onboard charger is 11 kW three-phase, and an 11 kW Voldt® cable is the correct match for cars with the standard charger. For cars fitted with the optional 22 kW charger, a 22 kW Voldt® cable is the right choice: an 11 kW cable would cap a 22 kW session at 11 kW, doubling the time at any 22 kW post.

The primary AC-only Type 2 port on the left front flank suits nose-in parking well, keeping the socket close to the post in most bay configurations. A 6-metre cable covers the majority of home driveways comfortably. An 8-metre cable is the more practical everyday standard for mixed home and public use, particularly at posts set further back in a bay or at a slight angle to the car.

Portable charging for travel and outdoor use

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable connects to industrial CEE sockets and is available up to 22 kW via three-phase CEE. For the e-tron GT quattro with the standard 11 kW charger, output is capped at 11 kW regardless of socket rating. On a 16A three-phase CEE socket (11 kW), a full charge takes around eight and a half hours, the same as a home wallbox. On a 32A three-phase CEE socket (22 kW), the result is identical on the standard charger; cars with the optional 22 kW onboard charger will benefit from the full socket output, bringing the session down to around four and a quarter hours.

Red three-phase CEE sockets are found at industrial sites, workshops, and some commercial marinas. Standard European campsite hookup points use blue single-phase 16A CEE sockets, which cap output at 3.7 kW. At that rate, a full charge from near-empty takes around 25 hours. A campsite blue socket is practical for a partial top-up during a multi-night stay, but not a viable source for a full charge on a single overnight stop.
