Mercedes EQV 300 charging cable

The Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 is a fully electric large-format MPV based on the V-Class platform, available in two wheelbases: Long and Extra-Long. The Extra-Long adds additional rear passenger space and can seat up to eight occupants, making it a common choice for executive transfers and large families. Both share identical charging hardware: a 100 kWh gross battery (90 kWh net), an 11 kW three-phase onboard AC charger, and 110 kW DC rapid charging via CCS. WLTP range is up to 226 miles (363 km) for the Long and up to 224 miles (360 km) for the Extra-Long. The 150 kW (204 PS) front-mounted electric motor drives the front wheels, with a top speed of 99 mph. The Type 2 and CCS ports are both located on the left front flank of the vehicle.

Battery and range

The 90 kWh usable battery sits beneath the floor of the EQV, keeping the interior flat and maximising passenger and luggage space. The EQV's upright body and considerable kerb weight of around 2,700 kg mean energy consumption is higher than a typical passenger car, and real-world range tends to fall noticeably below the WLTP figure at motorway speeds. Around town and at lower speeds, the range holds up well, making the EQV well suited to urban and suburban use where its size and seating capacity are most useful.

Charging at home and at public wallboxes

The 11 kW three-phase onboard charger fills the 90 kWh usable battery from empty in approximately 9 hours 45 minutes at a compatible three-phase wallbox or public AC point. At a single-phase 7.4 kW supply, a full charge takes approximately 12 hours 30 minutes. For DC rapid charging, the 110 kW CCS capability brings the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 45 minutes. Given the EQV's role as a high-use vehicle for many operators, overnight AC charging at 11 kW is the practical daily routine, with DC top-ups available on longer routes.

Choosing the right cable

The 11 kW three-phase onboard charger is fully served by an 11 kW Type 2 cable, which covers every public AC charging point and home wallbox across Europe at the car's maximum AC rate. Cable length

The charging port is on the left front flank, so pulling forward into a charging bay or parking nose-first to the wallbox is the natural approach. Given the EQV's length, a 6 metre cable is the comfortable minimum for most home setups, and an 8 metre cable gives useful extra reach at public stations where the post may not align perfectly with the bay. Portable charging with a CEE charger

A portable CEE charger is a practical addition for EQV operators who travel beyond the fixed charging network, covering hotel car parks, event venues, rural properties, and any location with an industrial socket. On a 16A single-phase CEE socket (3.7 kW), a full charge from empty takes approximately 24 hours 20 minutes, suited to very long multi-day stops. On a 16A three-phase CEE socket (11 kW), a full charge takes approximately 9 hours 45 minutes, comfortably within an overnight window. On a 32A three-phase CEE socket, the car charges at the same 11 kW rate, completing the charge in approximately 9 hours 45 minutes. Portable chargers are available from 3.7 kW to 22 kW, all fully compatible with the EQV 300.
