Mercedes eVito charging cable

Mercedes eVito charging cable

11kW
The Mercedes eVito has a charging capacity of 11kW. So we recommend using a charging cable of atleast 11kW for optimal charging speeds.

22kW cable compatible
However, please be aware that a 22kW cable is perfectly capable of charging at 11kW. With a 22kW cable you'll have guaranteed optimal charging speeds in the event of a new car or a possible upgrade in charging capacity.

Collection: Mercedes eVito charging cable

The Mercedes-Benz eVito is a fully electric medium-sized van, sold in Panel Van and Tourer configurations and built on a shared platform. All current variants use an 11 kW three-phase onboard AC charger, with battery options of 60 kWh usable in the standard version and 90 kWh usable in the long-range version. The Type 2 and CCS charging port sits in the front-left bumper, beneath the left headlight, so the eVito parks nose-in to reach the charge point, which affects bay geometry at both depot and public infrastructure.

The right Type 2 cable for the eVito in the UK

UK home charging is predominantly single-phase. The most common home wallbox installation is 7.4 kW at 32A, and the eVito's onboard charger scales cleanly to whatever supply it receives, which means the cable determines whether the van reaches its ceiling. On a single-phase 32A wallbox, a 22 kW-rated Type 2 cable delivers the full 7.4 kW to the vehicle. An 11 kW-rated cable, wired for 16A maximum, restricts the flow to 3.7 kW. On a 60 kWh eVito that translates to roughly 9 hours from empty at 7.4 kW compared with close to 17 hours at 3.7 kW. On the 90 kWh variant it's around 13 hours against most of a full day. In practice, only the 22 kW-rated cable makes single-phase home charging viable as a genuine overnight solution.

Public and depot infrastructure in the UK is largely three-phase, either 11 kW or 22 kW, and on either supply the eVito settles at its 11 kW ceiling: both cable ratings arrive at the same figure. Choosing the 22 kW cable therefore covers every UK scenario the van is likely to encounter, and leaves the fleet ready if a future vehicle carries a higher onboard AC rating. Voldt® supplies Type 2 cables in 6, 8, 10 and 15 metre lengths. Six metres is comfortable for a home wallbox with the van parked directly in front. Eight or ten metres suits public bays and depot bays where the post sits at distance from the bonnet. Fifteen metres covers larger yards, mixed-use forecourts, and installations where the vehicle can't always park adjacent to the charge point. The full Voldt® Type 2 cable range covers every combination of length and rating.

Portable charging for the eVito on the road

Not every route ends at a wallbox. For operators running mixed depots, drivers stopping at workshops or industrial units, and Tourer variants used for private hire or community transport, a portable EV charger extends the eVito's reach without depending on the public network. The Voldt® 11 kW three-phase red CEE portable charger plugs into an industrial red CEE three-phase socket, common in workshops, farms, warehouses and commercial premises. It delivers the eVito's full 11 kW ceiling, filling a 60 kWh battery in around 6.5 hours and a 90 kWh battery in around 9.5 hours, functioning as a fully mobile wallbox at any site already fitted with three-phase red CEE infrastructure.

The Voldt® 3.7 kW blue CEE portable charger is designed for the 16A single-phase blue commando socket, standard at caravan sites, campsites and outdoor commercial premises, and over a full overnight stop it delivers a substantial refill, restoring enough range to cover the following day's work whether the eVito is on a delivery route, a private hire schedule or a community transport rota. The Voldt® three-pin domestic charger plugs into a standard UK 13A socket and delivers up to 2.8 kW, within the limits of what the household wiring can sustain. A built-in thermal sensor monitors the connection temperature during charging and automatically reduces the current if the plug or socket warms beyond a safe level, making it the sensible option for drivers taking the van home overnight or stopping at a customer or family address.

Built to the standard commercial use demands

Every Voldt® cable and portable charger is CE, UKCA and TÜV certified, with an IP67 rating that keeps the connection sealed against rain, dust, road grit and depot washdowns. Contacts are silver-plated copper for reliable current transfer and minimal heat build-up over long charging cycles, and every connector is tested for 10,000 mating cycles, comfortably beyond a decade of daily commercial use. All Voldt® cables and portable chargers ship with a 3-year warranty and English-language technical support.
