Collection: MG MG4 charging cable

The MG4 comes in three battery configurations, and the onboard AC charger differs between them, which makes the spec sheet worth checking before buying a cable. The Standard Range (51 kWh) and both 64 kWh variants (Long Range SE and Trophy) have a 6.6 kW single-phase charger. Only the Extended Range (77 kWh) steps up to 11 kW three-phase. At 6.6 kW, both the 51 kWh and 64 kWh batteries charge fully in around eight to ten hours. At 11 kW, the 77 kWh Extended Range takes around seven hours. All variants suit an overnight park without issue. The CCS Type 2 inlet sits on the left rear flank across the entire MG4 range.

One cable, every MG4

A Voldt® Type 2 charging cable covers all MG4 variants. For the 51 kWh and 64 kWh models, a 7.4 kW cable is the natural match, but an 11 kW cable works equally well at 6.6 kW and is worth considering if you plan to use it with a three-phase capable vehicle later. For the 77 kWh Extended Range, an 11 kW cable unlocks the full AC charge rate. A 22 kW cable works across all variants and future-proofs your setup further.

The rear-left port mirrors the position of a conventional fuel filler, so reversing into a bay puts the port closest to the post. For most home driveways a 6-metre cable is comfortable. An 8-metre cable is the everyday standard for mixed home and public use. A 10-metre cable removes uncertainty at public bays where the post is set further back. A 15-metre cable handles hotel car parks and longer driveway runs without restriction.

Portable charging, output matched to your variant

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable delivers up to 11 kW via three-phase CEE. For the 51 kWh and 64 kWh models, output is matched to the 6.6 kW onboard charger, giving a full charge in around eight to ten hours from a campsite or workplace socket. For the 77 kWh Extended Range, the full 11 kW rate applies, with a complete charge in around seven hours. Most CEE sockets on campsites and marinas run at 16A three-phase, delivering exactly 11 kW. The Schuko portable charger delivers up to 3.7 kW where only a standard socket is available.
