Collection: Mini Cooper SE Countryman charging cable

The Mini Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 is a plug-in hybrid that brings electric driving to one of MINI's most practical body styles. The 10 kWh battery provides enough charge for a typical urban commute on electric power alone, with the petrol engine available whenever you need it. Charging via AC uses a Type 2 connector at up to 3.7 kW. A full charge from empty takes around two and a half hours, short enough to top up during a long lunch or a few hours at the office. There is no DC fast charging on the Countryman PHEV. The charge port sits on the left front flank, ahead of the driver's door.

Which charging cable fits the Mini Cooper SE Countryman

The correct cable is a Voldt® Type 2 charging cable. Because the onboard charger is limited to 3.7 kW, charging speed is the same regardless of cable rating. A higher-rated cable costs nothing in performance terms and covers you if you move to a three-phase capable vehicle later, so an 11 kW cable is a sensible long-term choice.

The front-left port is well-suited to nose-in parking, keeping the post close to the car in most scenarios. For most home setups a 6-metre cable covers the driveway without excess. An 8-metre cable is the everyday standard for mixed home and public use, giving enough reach for the occasional angled bay. A 10-metre cable removes uncertainty at public posts set further from the bay. A 15-metre cable covers longer driveways, hotel car parks and any other situation where the distance between car and post is less predictable.

Portable charging options

The Voldt® portable Schuko charging cable delivers up to 3.7 kW via a standard socket, matched to the Countryman's onboard charger. At 3.7 kW, the 10 kWh battery charges fully in around two and a half hours. A standard socket is available in most homes, garages, workplaces and holiday accommodation, making this a practical companion for any trip. For a car with a battery this size, even a short plug-in during a meal stop recovers a meaningful amount of range.

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable is available up to 22 kW via three-phase CEE. For the Countryman PHEV, the onboard charger accepts up to 3.7 kW, so output is matched automatically. At campsites, marinas or workplaces with CEE sockets, the result is the same two-and-a-half-hour charge time, with the added versatility of a cable that works at full rate with any higher-capacity vehicle you may drive in the future.
