Collection: Tesla Model X charging cable

The Tesla Model X combines the practicality of a full-size SUV with the long-distance capability expected from Tesla's largest passenger vehicle. Both the Long Range and the high-performance Plaid use a 100 kWh battery pack with 96 kWh usable, paired with an 11 kW three-phase onboard AC charger. Despite the Plaid's significantly higher performance output, its AC charging capability is identical to the Long Range. Connected to a three-phase wallbox or public AC post, the Model X gains approximately 30 miles of range per hour, with a full charge from near empty taking around nine hours. The CCS Type 2 inlet sits on the left rear flank, where the fuel filler would be on a conventional SUV.

The ideal charging cable for the Tesla Model X

An 11 kW Voldt® Type 2 charging cable is fully compatible with every Tesla Model X variant. A 22 kW cable works equally well at 11 kW and is worth considering if you plan to use it with a higher-capacity vehicle in the future, or simply want the most versatile option available.

Due to the large battery and the overall size of the vehicle, cable length is worth thinking about more carefully than on smaller EVs. The left-rear port mirrors the position of a conventional fuel filler, so reversing into a bay puts the port closest to the post. For most home setups a 6-metre cable is comfortable. An 8-metre cable is the practical everyday standard for mixed home and public use. A 10-metre cable offers extra flexibility at public charge points where parking orientation varies. A 15-metre cable handles hotel parking areas, longer driveways and larger charging bays without restriction.

Reliable charging while travelling

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable is available up to 22 kW via three-phase CEE. For the Model X, the onboard charger accepts up to 11 kW, so output is matched automatically at any 16A or 32A three-phase socket. Most CEE sockets on campsites and marinas run at 16A three-phase, delivering exactly 11 kW. At that rate the 96 kWh battery charges fully in around nine hours, well within an overnight window at any site with a three-phase socket. The Schuko portable charger delivers up to 3.7 kW from a standard household socket wherever industrial power is unavailable.

Automotive-grade construction and certification

Voldt® charging cables are CE, UKCA and TÜV certified and manufactured according to IATF 16949 automotive quality standards. Single-piece moulded connectors, no glue or screws. IP67-rated for operation between −30°C and +50°C. 100% copper conductors with silver-plated contacts for stable conductivity and minimal resistance. Tested for more than 10,000 connection cycles. Three-year warranty, 100-day returns, free shipping across Europe.
