Volkswagen ID.4 charging cable

Volkswagen ID.4 charging cable

11kW
The Volkswagen ID.4 has a charging capacity of 11kW. So we recommend using a charging cable of atleast 11kW for optimal charging speeds.

22kW cable compatible
However, please be aware that a 22kW cable is perfectly capable of charging at 11kW. With a 22kW cable you'll have guaranteed optimal charging speeds in the event of a new car or a possible upgrade in charging capacity.

Collection: Volkswagen ID.4 charging cable

The Volkswagen ID.4 is a family SUV with a 77 kWh battery in Pro specification and a smaller 52 kWh pack in the Pure. The Pro, Pro Performance and GTX carry an 11 kW three-phase onboard charger. The Pure is limited to 7.2 kW single-phase. At 11 kW on a three-phase supply, the Pro variants add around 50 km of range per hour and charge a full battery overnight with ease. The CCS Type 2 inlet sits on the right rear flank.

Optimal charging cable for the ID.4

A Voldt® Type 2 11 kW charging cable covers every ID.4 variant. On the Pure it delivers the car's maximum 7.2 kW. On the Pro variants it unlocks the full 11 kW at any three-phase post. No ID.4 accepts more than 11 kW AC, so a 22 kW cable brings no benefit. The right-rear port is predictable for nose-in parking at home. A 4-metre cable covers compact setups. A 6-metre cable suits the majority of driveways. An 8-metre cable is the everyday standard. A 10-metre cable is the safe choice for public infrastructure. A 15-metre cable gives complete flexibility on longer driveways and hotel car parks.

Portable charging: your options outdoors

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable delivers up to 11 kW via three-phase CEE, matched to the Pro onboard charger. For the Pure it scales to 7.2 kW. At a campsite, marina or workplace with a red CEE socket, the ID.4 charges at its full rate. The Schuko portable charger delivers up to 3.7 kW for locations where only a standard socket is available.
