Volkswagen ID.4 charging cable

11kW
The Volkswagen ID.4 has a charging capacity of 11kW. So we recommend using a charging cable of atleast 11kW for optimal charging speeds.

22kW cable compatible
However, please be aware that a 22kW cable is perfectly capable of charging at 11kW. With a 22kW cable you'll have guaranteed optimal charging speeds in the event of a new car or a possible upgrade in charging capacity.

Collection: Volkswagen ID.4 charging cable

The Volkswagen ID.4 is a family SUV built around two battery sizes: 52 kWh in the Pure and 77 kWh in the Pro, Pro Performance and GTX. All variants share an 11 kW three-phase onboard charger, adding around 50 km of range per hour at any three-phase post. The CCS Type 2 inlet sits on the right raw flank.

The right cable for every ID.4 variant

A Voldt® Type 2 11 kW charging cable covers the entire ID.4 range without compromise. Every variant draws its full 11 kW at any three-phase wallbox or public post, regardless of battery size. A 22 kW cable works equally well across the whole range and is worth considering if you plan to use it with a higher-capacity vehicle in the future, or want to be prepared for any onboard charger updates down the line.

The right-rear port is straightforward for nose-in parking at home. Cable length is mostly a question of how predictable your charging spots are: 6 metres handles the majority of home driveways, 8 metres gives a comfortable margin for mixed use, and anything beyond 10 metres is really about public bays and hotel car parks where the post position is out of your hands.

Charging away from the wallbox

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable delivers up to 11 kW via a three-phase CEE socket, matched to the onboard charger across all ID.4 variants. Most CEE sockets on campsites and marinas run at 16A three-phase, which gives the full 11 kW. A 32A supply unlocks up to 22 kW at the socket, though the ID.4's onboard charger caps acceptance at 11 kW either way. The Schuko portable charger delivers up to 3.7 kW where only a standard socket is available.
