Collection: BYD ATTO3 charging cable

The BYD Atto 3 brings the brand's LFP Blade Battery technology into the compact electric SUV segment, combining a 60.48 kWh battery with a practical family crossover format. The standard onboard charger is 7 kW single-phase, with 11 kW three-phase available on higher-spec variants. At 11 kW on a three-phase supply, a full charge takes around six and a half hours. At the standard 7 kW on a single-phase wallbox, a full charge takes around nine hours. The CCS2 and Type 2 charge port sits on the right front flank, above the wheel arch.

Choosing the right charging cable

A 22 kW Voldt® Type 2 charging cable is the right match for both Atto 3 variants. For the standard 7 kW single-phase model, the car draws around 30A from a single-phase wallbox, and a 22 kW cable's 32A conductors support this comfortably. An 11 kW three-phase cable restricts a single-phase wallbox to 16A (3.7 kW), nearly doubling the charge time from around nine hours to over sixteen. For variants fitted with the optional 11 kW three-phase charger, the same 22 kW cable delivers the full 7 kW at home on single-phase and the full 11 kW at public three-phase posts.

The right-front port suits nose-in parking well, keeping it closest to the charging post. A 6-metre cable handles a well-positioned home wallbox. An 8-metre cable is the practical standard for mixed home and public use. A 10-metre cable gives confidence at bays where the post is set further back. A 15-metre cable handles deeper driveways and hotel car parks without restriction.

Portable charging away from home

The Voldt® portable CEE charging cable delivers output up to 11 kW via three-phase CEE, matched to the Atto 3's charger. For the 11 kW variant, a red three-phase 16A CEE socket delivers the full 11 kW: a complete charge in around six and a half hours. Red CEE sockets are found at workshops, farms, and commercial premises. For the standard 7 kW variant, a red or blue CEE socket delivers 3.7 kW, as the single-phase charger cannot draw more than 16A from a CEE connection. The blue single-phase 16A CEE sockets typical of campsites and caravan hookups deliver 3.7 kW on both variants: a partial overnight top-up rather than a full charge of the 60.48 kWh battery.

The Voldt® Schuko/Type G compatible portable charger draws 2.3 kW (10A safe limit) from a standard domestic wall socket. A full charge takes well over a day, making this strictly an emergency fallback.
