Collection: Mercedes E 300 e Charging cable

The Mercedes-Benz E 300e is an executive plug-in hybrid available as a Saloon and an Estate, offered in rear-wheel drive and as the E 300e 4MATIC with all-wheel drive. Both combine a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 95 kW electric motor for a combined output of 230 kW (313 PS) and 500 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel drive variant covers 0–100 km/h in 6.8 seconds; the 4MATIC in 6.5 seconds. The 25.4 kWh battery delivers a WLTP electric range of up to 115 km for the RWD variant and up to 109 km for the 4MATIC. The onboard AC charger is 11 kW three-phase, and a 55 kW DC rapid charging option is available. The Type 2 charging port is located on the left front flank on both body styles.

Battery and electric range

The 25.4 kWh lithium-ion battery is integrated into the vehicle floor and delivers one of the longest electric ranges in the executive saloon class. Under real-world conditions, most drivers see between 85 and 100 km of electric range in moderate temperatures. The electric motor provides 440 Nm from the first revolution, giving strong acceleration off the line without engaging the petrol engine. The car defaults to electric mode on startup and can sustain electric-only driving at speeds up to 140 km/h.

Charging at home and at public wallboxes

At an 11 kW three-phase wallbox or public AC point, a full charge from empty takes approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. At a single-phase 7.4 kW supply, the same charge takes approximately 3 hours 40 minutes. Where the optional 55 kW DC charging is fitted, the battery charges from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes and from empty to full in approximately 30 minutes, making it practical to top up quickly at a public fast charger during longer journeys.

Choosing the right cable

The 11 kW three-phase onboard charger is fully matched by an 11 kW Type 2 cable, which delivers the car's full AC rate at every compatible wallbox and public Type 2 point across Europe. For those planning ahead for a future vehicle with 22 kW three-phase AC charging, a 22 kW cable is the forward-looking option: fully compatible with the E 300e today and ready for any future vehicle without any change of hardware.

Cable reach and length

The charging port is on the left front flank on both the Saloon and Estate, so pulling forward into a charging bay or parking nose-first to the wallbox works naturally in most setups. A 6 metre cable covers the majority of home driveway and garage configurations. For public charging, an 8 metre cable provides reliable reach across varied post positions and bay layouts. For greater reach, 10 and 15 metre cables are available, and Voldt® supplies cables up to 40 metres for dedicated or commercial installations.

Portable charging with a CEE charger

A portable CEE charger is a useful addition for E 300e drivers who charge away from a fixed wallbox. On a 16A single-phase CEE socket (3.7 kW), a full charge from empty takes approximately 6 hours 55 minutes. On a 16A three-phase CEE socket (11 kW), a full charge completes in approximately 2 hours 45 minutes, matching the speed of a dedicated home wallbox. A 32A three-phase CEE socket delivers the same 11 kW rate and the same charge time. Portable chargers are available from 3.7 kW to 22 kW, all fully compatible with the E 300e.
